When a model has an interesting expression, I may paint a portrait. Over the past 25 years, I’ve done many contemporary portraits, often of the same model. I really like this watercolor!! Painting loosely is something that is so hard for me to do yet I love it when I see it. Reminds me a bit of Charles Reid!!

I clicked on the first portrait and found several others I liked as well. Would liked to have seen more details on the subjects though. Thanks.
Bob...I'm of the school that believes "less is more" when it comes to painting detail. There can be much (viewer's interpretation) lost when too much is spelled out. I tend to leave literal art for illustration and photography.
I think your portraits are fabulous, must be heaven to have been blessed with your skill.

this is really great, having to see the spontenaity, fluidity and the loose brush work in this pieces.
I love the the registration of the basic features and i agree with you perfectly LESS IS MORE!!! For me it's all about the essence which I see oozing in here.
I see valerie's point about the similiarity between you and Charles Reid but i can't still figure there's a huge difference in touch if one really takes a close look.
